As a Parent, Grandparent, Aunt or Uncle, somehow we feel that we can control how the children in our lives present themselves to the outside world. We can't. We want kids to do things that help the grownups to look better in the world. Sometimes, we become stuck in the blame/shame game.
Is it really important for our children's outfits to match or is it better that they show signs of creativity?
Is it important for children to have A's or is it better that they learn from their mistakes?
Is it okay for children to voice their opinions even if they are different from ours?
The last question is....
Are we strong enough to be who we are so that we can let our children be who they are?
